The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

  • Work under the direction of the surgeon
  • Collaborates with members of the surgical team
  •  Obtain patient’s history and medical condition 
  • Evaluates the patient and oversees the patient’s anesthesia needs before, during, and after a procedure.

Registered Nurse:

  • Provide and coordinate patient care
  • Patient education
  • Administering medications including intravenous medications
  • Observing and monitoring patient conditions
  • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team
  • Obtain patient medical history and perform physical exams
  • Collect lab specimens for ordered tests
  • Appropriate and thorough documentation
  • Develop and follow plan of care
  • Each individual nurse is unique in their areas of expertise. If requested, nurses can be provided that offer their services in specialty areas such as obstetrics, emergency room, and surgery

Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Provide and coordinate patient care
  • Patient education
  • Administering medications
  • Observing and monitoring patient conditions
  • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team
  • Obtain patient medical history and perform physical exams
  • Collect lab specimens for ordered tests
  • Appropriate and thorough documentation
  • Reports to registered nurse or shift leader

Nursing Assistant:

  • Provide basic care to patients
  • Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, eating, hygiene, activity)
  • Monitor vital signs
  • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team
  • Appropriate and through documentation
  • Observe for changes in patient condition or behavior and report to team leader

Home Care Aide:

Can be provided for a one-time need, daily, weekly, or monthly

  • Personal cares (Bath or shower, hair care, nail care, assistance with oral cares)
  • Adult Day Care (provide activities during the day, assist with toileting, assistance with meal preparation and feeding, provide and maintain a safe environment)
  • Adult Night Care (assist with toileting, provide and maintain a safe environment)
  • Toileting assistance
  • Shopping assistance
  • Housekeeping assistance (laundry, dishes, dusting, floor care)
  • Meal preparation and assistance with feeding as needed
  • Assist with transportation needs

Services are available but not limited to: in home, long term care facilities, nursing services, health care services, hospitals, and SNF care facilities. All services available 24/7/365.

All MedStaff Employees:

  • Have in their file their current license or certification valid in the State of Iowa
  • Reliable transportation to get to their job site and back home
  • All employees are 16 years of age or older
  • Passed the State of Iowa Background Check
  • Take educational classes on a yearly basis to stay updated with information in their specialty area
  • Taken and passed the Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter Training
